After much careful consideration we at Whitworth’s would love to introduce to you, our newest team member, Anthony Matteo.
We felt Anthony is the perfect match for us. Not only does he share a passion for cars, just as we do, but he also has a head for business. Anthony owns his very own photography business “AJ Film and Photography” and he takes pictures of, yep you guessed it, cars.
Anthony tells us, “For me, cars and anything automotive really, dates back to when I was 3 years old.”

At age 5, Anthony got his first PlayStation, where he further developed his addiction for cars.
As many of us can relate to (or maybe not, because Anthony is Gen Z) … driving cars really fast on Gran Turismo.

With a passion for automotive up his sleeve, and realising that driving cars on video games is different to real life, Anthony started a career in the automotive industry.
If you know him well, Anthony usually spends most of his spare time surrounded by cars, whether it be his own or others. “Deep down I am a Holden boy, but to my fathers disgust, I love my Nissan.”

For Anthony however, what’s important is giving others the chance to enjoy his car, as well as himself.
“Taking the Silvia to motoring events is amazing … I get the most satisfaction out of seeing people point, admire and take photos of it. I love sharing the passion of cars and it makes me so happy seeing others embrace in the same passion as me. To me this is what being in the car community is all about.”

In 2015, Anthony, along with a high school friend, formed what is today known as ‘AJ Film and Photography’. Little did he know it would progress to what it is today…
“Myself and my then business partner decided, as we both had a passion for cars, to start a page where I would focus on the photos and he would focus on the video content.”
It’s no secret however, he’s certainly built up a community. Having over 5,000 followers on Facebook his fan base are a-plenty.
It was through his network, and his strong passion for cars, which originally united him with Whitworth’s.
“I reached out to Lee back in early 2019 after I decided I wanted to get my Silvia paint corrected as she needed some love… I reached out to other companies, but it was Lee’s professionalism, high standard and reputation which was the deciding factor for me.”

Having a strong interest in cars, being mature beyond his years, a good business head on his shoulders, and great with people was the deciding factor to bring Anthony onboard at Whitworth’s.
